National Kicks off its 2014 election campaign

National has officially kicked off its 2014 election campaign with a new package of measures aimed at helping first home buyers.  Under the new Home Start policy, a couple in KiwiSaver could get $20,000 for a new home.

Only four weeks to the next election.  Make sure you vote because voting is the most important way to make your voice heard on the issues that concern you.

Hey check this out!  Electric trains, its surely one big reason for getting out there and voting on General Election Day: Saturday 20 September.  Voting in the election means that you have a say on the people and political parties representing you in Parliament.

The Gaza Disasters Emergency Committee said £4.5m had been raised in less than 24 hours,

Tens of thousands of people have taken part in a rally for Gaza in London.

The demonstration came amid renewed violence between Israel and Palestinian militants after a three-day ceasefire ended on Friday.

An emergency appeal in the UK for people affected by the conflict in Gaza has raised £4.5m in less than 24 hours, the Disasters Emergency Committee said.

Meanwhile, David Cameron and Barack Obama have expressed "serious concern" about the renewed hostilities

New Zealand General Election now just 6 weeks away.

A bid by Shanghai Pengxin  to buy Lochinver Station has prompted intense political debate, with Labour Party leader David Cunliffe saying he would stop the sale if elected. Lochinver Station has three airstrips, a lake, a recreational hunting block, 22 houses which accommodate the families of 20 permanent staff, a staff recreation centre, a school, 91km of well-formed pumice roads, six cattle yards, three woolsheds and multiple other farm buildings.
